11 October 2019The Hawai'i International Film Festival 2019 will take place on November 7th to 17th at the Dole Cannery Stadium in Oahu and Big Island Maui on November 21st to 24th. This year it's being presented by the Halekulani Hotel and we are one of the very excited sponsors!
HIFF's major annual event is the Hawaii International Film Festival presenting over 200+ films and shorts from around the world. The film festival also provides free public seminars, educational programs, and special events such as the HIFF VR Lounge and Hollywood, HI Oscar Viewing Party.
In 1981, HIFF's inaugural year, the program consisted of seven films from six countries which were viewed by an audience of 5,000. Today, HIFF is a premiere cinematic event in the Pacific and annually attracts more than 70,000 film enthusiasts from around the state, the nation and throughout the world.
The entry submissions this year will be comprised of features and shorts with Pacific Islander Showcase, and Made in Hawaii themes. The documentary shorts were also open to university and school students.
